Abstract

Anderson covers the origins of Marquette University’s Tolkien collection. Tolkien manuscripts included rules, guides, and proofs when arriving at Marquette, all assuring that proper care was taken for the collection. Literature such as original typescripts of The Hobbit, early illustrations from the Book of Mazarbul, and rare unpublished pieces including Mr. Bliss.
