Abstract

Priscilla Tolkien notes the importance of accuracy when historians recollect her father’s work. Unlike other authors who have made biographies about her father, Priscilla approves of Humphrey Carpenter– who worked with Tolkien and had a deep appreciation for his works. In his biography, Carpenter showed humility and sensitivity throughout, honoring J.R.R. Tolkien.
