Abstract

This letter from John Tolkien, better known by his initials, J.R.R.Tolkien, discusses some of the places he had lived in their early lives - specifically Oliver Road, which he wishes to forget due to it being where his mother had died. He then mentioned being penniless and orphaned, saved by Father Francis Morgan of the Oratory - who gave them a home. He asked for Mr. Power to look and see if his house on Duchess road had been demolished or not. He finishes the letter by enclosing a series of essays on J.H. Shorthouse and John Inglesant.
